Steven M Johnson, DO, ABHM
Dr. Johnson has practiced integrative and osteopathic medicine for over 15 years. He is a lecturer and teacher of integrative medicine with international credentials. As an osteopathic physician Dr. Johnson practices the same as a regular licensed medical doctor with additional training in musculoskeletal medicine. Dr. Johnson was Co-Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital before serving as Medical Director for both the Hawthorn Integrative Medical Clinic and the Camphill Special Needs Clinic in New York as well as the Foxhollow Clinic in Louisville Kentucky. Cultivating a holistic philosophy, Dr. Johnson practices mind, body medicine in a very practical way assisting patients to better understand these interactions within their own organism and assisting them to attain their unique individual balance of health and wellness. With a keen interest in the relationship of Eastern and Western philosophy Dr. Johnson integrates Complimentary Medical Treatments and applies them to his own unique style of practice.
Dr. Johnson will begin limited hours in Louisville while maintaining a fulltime practice in Clarksville Indiana just 2 miles across the Kennedy Bridge. The hope is to begin a small practice in Louisville and organically increase to the scope of a full medical office practice over time. For now, specialty lab work, intravenous therapies, hospital care and exams requiring the support of a full medical office will be performed in our Indiana office and at Clark Memorial hospital. At the MultiCare Centre Dr. Johnson will start with the modalities of practice listed below as well as working supportively with integrative referrals between the MultiCare Centre staff and his Indiana staff practitioners, which will provide patients with a wide range of therapeutic options. All of us participating in these practices hope and pray this will be the beginning of the first Comprehensive Integrative Medical Center for our Kentucky/Indiana region. Presently only limited insurance participation is available in Kentucky. Please speak to the front desk with any questions.
Dr. Johnson will offer at the MultiCare Centre:
- General medicine consults for acute and chronic disease as well as an integrative team approach with practitioners at the MultiCare Centre and his office in Clarksville Indiana.
- Therapeutic nutrition and detoxification
- Alternative pain treatment including the use of physiologic regulating medicine protocols, trigger point injections, myofacial release, cranial sacral treatment, joint injections, prolotherapy, microcurrent accupuncture, osteopathic adjustments, nutritional and mind body counseling.
- Homeopathic consultations with a specialization in Anthroposophical Medicine for children and adults.
- Bio-identical hormone balancing for women and men
